I'm just a dreamer... who believed in the dream.

I'm just a dreamer. What can I say, i'm always thinking of something. Often times over-thinking (smh). I was the kid in class that was day dreaming out the window into the snowy streets of Chicago thinking about multiple things at once. Most of the time I was thinking of what would become of my life. Chicago has a way of making you think like that at an early age. I always knew I wanted to become two things either an entrepreneur or an anchor woman. I liked watching the news and learning new things and I liked selling things and finding out what people wanted to buy. Many of the shops there are not chains but self owned. The guy checking you out at the register of the local corner store , often times owns the place. And needless to say there's plenty going on in the news, most of the time it's crime. Anchorwomen and Anchormen had plenty of content to pull from. At an early age I knew I had some decisions to make.

I ended up going to college for Television Production, yet knowing I wanted to become an entrepreneur much more than become a news anchor. In fact I never became an anchorwoman, I ended up using the writing and marketing portion of my education working for entrepreneurs. Yep.... every. single. job i've had since graduating has been for an entrepreneur. Successful entrepreneurs.  Helping them manage their business and somehow loosing sight of my personal dreams along the way. While helping them realize their own. We all know what happens to a " Dream Deferred" right?

While working I picked up some things that were of an entrepreneurial spirit like I built a 5 star Etsy shop " Miss. Poppington" a blend of me always annoyingly popping my gum as a kid and the last three letters of my maiden name "Houston".  I sold hair years before, during and after loosing my own. I learned sourcing and procurement from a Design firm I worked at for 8 years. It was founded by two Dallas entrepreneurs who designed some of the most beautiful hotels and spas in this country. A jewelry company, and a marketing company... blah blah blah....

I say all this to say, sometimes you have to believe and pour into yourself as much as you have poured into others. And have the faith that it will work out according to God's will for your life. And trust the process. I've used all the skills I learned along the way. All of them.

This tea company is apart of my journey which hasn't been easy but has been adventurous and Blessed. Heavy on the #Blessed part. I'm thankful for the good and bad times. Life is a learning experience. I hope to make this experience the best one yet and leave a legacy for my children that "If they believe, they can achieve" and that kindness is champion.

You get a lot further in life by being genuine, no matter how hard the circumstance.  Most of all believe in yourself! I just wanted to give you a peek behind the brand. Just a gal following one of her dreams, hoping to succeed. BTW... this is very good tea. Promise.
